Waldemar Dąbrowski Visits San Francisco
Waldemar Dąbrowski, Plenipotentiary for the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, visited San Francisco the first week in September. Ann and Gordon Getty hosted a reception in his honor on Wednesday, September 5. The guests included benefactors of the Museum and patrons of the city's opera, symphony, and museums. The Taube and Koret Foundations comprised the host committee. Mr. Dąbrowski, who also serves as Director of the Polish Grand Theater—National Opera, attended the season opening of the San Francisco Opera, where renowned soprano Aleksandra Kurzak of the National Opera performed Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto. Dianne and Tad Taube hosted Mr. Dąbrowski at the Opera Ball on Friday, September 7, preceding the opening night performance. Dianne Taube serves on the Opera Board and the Taube and Koret Foundations are major supporters of the San Francisco Opera.
